The other day I wrote about embracing winter in HK.
After experiencing deep icy cold for the past 4 months, sufice to say Winter Sucks here!
I rather embrace winter in Canada or maybe Australia, then having to feel winter here in Hong Kong.
I don't know much about other apartment, but our apartment seems to make winter worse for us. my husband kept saying "It's like this apt is not built to adapt to winter". The walls of our apartment is crazy cold and it affects the temperature in our room. Even if we turn on the heater, it's still cold. How come I didn't feel like this when I experience winter in Melbourne or Vancouver?
Not to mention, Me and my son, it's like we are competing to get sick during winter. Always got the flu or cough. One night, We even have to call emergency and ended up staying at the hospital for a few days cause my son had a really high fever that causes him a seizure.
I hate winter. I think one should just experience winter on a holiday for few days, but not like a long term stay. Summer is more my kind, if you get extremely hot you can at least turn on the ac or get to the nearest mall for a glimpse of cold. And the thing with the ac, you can turn it off when the temperature drop. But with winter? No one can stop the ice queen who barge in with her strongest wind.

Make your bed
So I read this article yesterday, it's about a speech from an army officer concerning why it's important to make up your bed after you get up in the morning. Here's why:
First, your bed is the place you rest after spending your day, if you get a shitty day, at least you can come home to a clean and make up bed. And you will feel better a little.
Second, when you made your bed, you have completed your first task that day. This simple act will uplift your spirit, gives you a sense of pleasure and self pride. It will boost you to get working on task no 2, no 3 and so on.
Lastly, make your bed every morning seems like a small or simple thing to do, but if you can do this small thing everyday, you'll learn to appreciate the small and simple things in life. To be grateful for what you have.
The article makes me re-think what I do everyday. Sometimes... No a lot of times, I forgot to be grateful, I got bitter and just hated the world, However, when I rest on my clean and comfy bed, it makes me relax a little.
So this morning after I got up, I made my bed. In the afternoon when I got home, after just dropping my mom at the airport cause she had to go back to Jakarta and I got teary eyed a little, the bed that I had done this morning just made me smile.
